What is French Language test?

The French language proficiency test is for people whose native language is not French. It measures the everyday French skills of people on work or academic situation. According to The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL or CEFR) there are six levels in French based on the standard of language proficiency.viz.,A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 & C2.

What is French A1?

This is the beginner level. A person with this level of proficiency can understand and use very basic expressions and can interact in very simple language.

What is French A2?

This is Elementary Level or low intermediate level. Can understand frequently used expressions and describe matters of immediate need in simple terms.

What is French B1?

This is the Intermediate Level. Can understand points regarding family, work or education. Can describe experiences or ambitions and can deal with travel situations etc.

What is French B2?

This is the Upper Intermediate Level. Can spontaneously interact with others and can understand complex texts or conversations.

What is French C1?

This is the Advanced Level. Can understand a wide range of longer and wide demanding texts or conversations and can effectively use the language.

What is French C2?

This is the Proficient Level. Can understand almost everything read or heard easily. Can simply deal with complex situations demanding high level language proficiency.
