Nursing Board Registration & Registered Midwives jobs in Australia

There are two ways in which Overseas Midwifes can enter the Registration and profession in Australia.

  • By successfully completing Australian Registered Midwife Training Program
  • By enrolling an Australian University for a Midwifery Degree where they may be granted some credit for previous study.

Australian Registered Midwife Training Program (ARMTP) [Jobs for B.Sc & Diploma(3.5 yrs) Midwives with IELTS overall 6.5]

NurseSuccessful completion of this program enables overseas-educated Midwives to register with the Nurses board of South Australia and practice as a Registered Midwife in the Australian Health care system. The program also incorporates English Language and academic study skills. To complete the program successfully students are required to, achieve a pass for the Occupational English Test (OET) with B grade in reading, listening, writing and speaking as part of the course in Australia itself, a pass in the Nursing & Midwifery theory examination and demonstrate clinical competency for a registered midwives as a identified by the Australian nursing Council. The programs usually commence in May and October each year. The duration of this program is 6 months

Entry Requirements

  • Diploma (3.5 years course) /Degree in nursing with registration in India.
  • Recent practice as a Registered Midwife
  • Certified evidence from an Employer of participation as a Registered midwife in a minimum of 100 births
  • IELTS overall band score of "6.5" with minimum 6 in each moduel or OET 'B' in writing, reading, listening and speaking
  • IELTS Academic over all "6" with 3 months English course prior to commencement of the program with fees of AU$ 3300. Through this course candidates will entry in the program.

Other Requirements

  • Verification form directly to be sent by the nursing council of which you are currently registered with, to the Nursing Board of South Australia.
  • Application Fee Rs. 4000/-

  • Experience letter from present employer and previous employers
  • Copy of initial and current nursing registration certificate / license

  • Copies of 10th certificates and mark sheets
  • Copies of IELTS or OET certificate
  • Copy of birth certificate (optional)
  • Copy of marriage certificate (optional)

Bachelor Of Midwifery-Graduate Entry[Jobs for Science Graduates,ANMs,GNMs with IELTS 6/6.5]

NurseThrough this program, Auxiliary Nursing and Midwifery (ANM), Diploma Nurses and Midwives can convert his/her degree into Australian bachelor of Midwifery degree in 2 years. On successful completion of this program, students will get direct registration in Australian nursing council and can work as a registered Midwife in Australia. Intake in this program is in February and July .Tution fees for this program per year is AUD 16000.

  • Through this program, Auxiliary Nursing and Midwifery (ANM), Diploma Nurses and Midwives can convert his/her degree into Australian bachelor of Midwifery degree in 2 years. On successful completion of this program, students will get direct registration in Australian nursing council and can work as a registered Midwife in Australia. Intake in this program is in February and July .Tution fees for this program per year is AUD 16000.
